Parisians are known for their effortlessly chic style. Equestrians are known for their sport and the timeless traditions that come with it. What style tips can you take from both to create your own unique look?
- Mix and match different hues, textures, and even price points! For example, wear a well-fitted, non-label white or black shirt (fit is so important) with jeans, your tall riding boots, and an open blazer. I love blazers and jackets with unusual textures and prints. They keep the equestrian look fun and casual, while still being chic.
- Easy on the accessories! Since I'm at the barn almost every day, I usually only wear 1-2 pieces of jewelry that I can easily take off before riding, but won't annoy me too much if I forget! I never wear necklaces because they can be difficult to undo and the one time I didn't take it off, my mare's big gaits made it an immediate no-go.
- You should only have 1-2 things on MAX with a bold label. Avoid the walking billboard look! If you're wearing a Louis Vuitton bag, don't also wear jeans or breeches with overly branded pockets. Choose pieces with small accents that accentuate the look without yelling the brand.
- Help your horse find his/her inner Parisian style! Choose a bridle with similar attributes: exquisite details and design without excessive branding.
